Business Analyst

The primary objective of this position will be to facilitate good interaction and collaboration between IT and various Jackson Companies business units.  This position requires knowledge in general IT systems as well as understanding of IT methodologies to ensure successful implementation of projects.  Additionally, solid project management skills are a must.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work on and complete multiple projects and deliverables with limited supervision and be able to work independently and/or in a team environment as needed.
  • Work with various IT resources to facilitate and communicate upgrades, changes, testing, etc. with business units on their multiple platforms. 
  • Perform troubleshooting of systems and coordinate business unit resources for testing and feedback.
  • Perform business process re-engineering on existing processes leveraging technology to optimize business systems and process workflow.
  • Understand the business and be able to articulate their needs into a technical requirements document.
  • Create documentation for business systems and train users as needed.
  • Participate in change management discussions and adhere to all change management policies.
  • Help the business be more competitive and own the technology that supports them.  When there is a problem, fix it.  Suggest improvements.  Listen to the business’ and stakeholder’s needs.
  • Manage tickets and requests pertaining to the business unit and associated systems.
  • Manage small to medium sized projects of varying complexity.  Own and drive the project to success.
  • Provide excellent customer service.



  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ work experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with retail, logistics, distribution or warehouse systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Application administration experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a challenging, fast-pasted, dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work at times outside business hours for infrastructure upgrades, outages, and implementations.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail orientated, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of up-to-date enterprise IT concepts, practices, and procedures, including ITIL or ITSM.
  • Experience with LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies is desired.
  • Formal project management training and/or certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management and executives.
