Four Lucky Idaho Schools Win $2,000

Category: Community

Jacksons Food Stores and United Dairymen of Idaho presented four lucky schools with a check for $2,000 in April and May 2016. These donations were made possible through the “Bananas For Dairy” campaign, which ran in Jacksons stores in Idaho from August 12 – October 20.

Participating schools submitted videos that included students purchasing milk from Jacksons Food Stores. Four schools’ videos were chosen based on creativity in presenting how they stay fueled on the go. Hunter Elementary, Discovery Elementary, Ponderosa Elementary and Mary McPhereson Elementary videos were chosen and awarded $2,000 each to go towards health and wellness programs at their schools.

The contest itself helped increase awareness among participants regarding the importance of healthy eating and staying active. With at least 60 minutes of exercise and a minimum of three dairy servings a day, even the busiest students are able stay healthy.
